ParmKartvya

I was suffering from fever. The entire sultry body was paining. The plaintive crying and shouting made me almost deaf. I was sleeping and once I thought that it was mere a daydream only. But the nap broke when the panting neighbor came and said "Bhaiyaa jaldi utho, Avi ko le kar jana hai hospital". I got to sweat as I heard the word 'Hospital'. I asked her,"what happened". She did not say anything and ran away back to the boy. I wake up quickly and went to the room from where the plaintive sounds were emerging out. The boy was crying in pain and his mother was "imitating" him.The boy had fell down from the roof. I quickly changed my clothes and washed my face. Me and the mother of the wounded boy went to the hospital on the scooter of mine.

Soon we were at the hospital, emergency ward. It was about 7.10 pm. The doctor was busy with other patients and the boy was trembling and crying. I could not see the pain and the eye drops of the weeping mother and went inside the room and asked the doctor humbly to attend the boy first. The doctor started the examination and then started discussing something with me. Meanwhile the boy vomited with blood in it.I was frightened to see the scene. So much blood !!! Oh my God. I consolidated his mother by saying that its all right now but perhaps the quiver in my voice made her perceive the fear, I was having in my heart. She started weeping loudly but in the mean time the neighbor aunti also came and she took her outside the room. I discussed the matter with the doctor. He persuaded some points to me and then referred the boy to the children ward. I purchased the medicines, injections and all it needed.

I was carrying the child to the children ward with the boy in my arms but the maternity made the mother out of control. She fell down on the floor and lost her senses.
One side it was the mother and on the other side , life of a six year old boy.
I had not seen such things in my life. The astounding and terrifying situation made me lunatic for some seconds. What should I do ? I handed over the child to the neighbour Aunty and asked her to go the children ward.I went to the canteen and managed to fetch a glass of water for the mother, lying on the same floor with her mouth almost open and arms stetched. As she woke up, after taking a sip of water, she started bawling out and asked ,"Where is myAvi ?". I said ,"Chinta kee koi baat ni hai aunti jee. Avi theek hai .Aap utho aur chalo Avi ke pass. Sab theek ho jaayega ". As I reached near the children ward, the boy was crying. I went to the nurse room and pleaded the care of 'Theirs' for the child. They quickly allotted a bed to the boy and the injected glucose into his arm. This was awesome. I could not watch the way they injected the injection. My God, People say it right that nurses and doctors have no heart.

The nurse ordered me to bring some injections and medicines as soon as possible.I ran down the stairs and fetched the life saving material.I did it in no time. Then I consolidated the crying mother that the child is safe now (, although he wasn't) and is out of danger. Many persons gathered around and they took me as the brother ofAunti. But who knew that I was mere the neighbor of her !!

The child slept. Peace for some time. But surge in my body temperature made me feel exhausted and jaded out. I came back to the quarter and told my mom the entire situation. She wept and prayed for the boy. After all she was also a mother. We took dinner half heatedly and then packed some clothes of AVI and meal for Aunti and Avi's mother.

As we reached there, they took the meal and then the doctor advised us to go for the CT scan of the boy. I sought the help of a person in carrying the child to CT scan building . I knew where it was. I was holding the Glucose bottle and the mother was carrying the child. As we reached there, the doctors present there ,looked for the CTscna form.We had no such form. So I again ran back and went to the doctor's cabin but he was not there. Upon asking , I found him on the top floor. He demanded the empty CT scan form. I again went to the ground floor and brought the form. The doctor filled it and forwarded it to the CT scan department via my hands. I again went to the CT scan building and reached there in no time. I took the report and went to the doctor.

"The boy has got a minor head injury and it was bleeding inside but now its in control. Need not to worry. If the boy does not respond anyway ,then I can forward the case toDharmshala", the doctor said after examining the report. I said," Sir, aap pehle aakar bachhe ko dekh lein , fir decide karien kee case forward kana hai ki ni."He nodded and I came back to the room where the boy was lying with his mother. Meanwhile, grandparents of the boy also came whom i had rang and asked them to come to the hospital . I consolidated them too. But now, my head ache was not bearable. My head was paining like a heart beat. Once too much pain , then relief , then again pain and so on.The frequency of this ''pain pulse'' was about 1 second. My mother persuaded me to take medicine from the doctor.

Now I could leave the child as his grandparents had came. So I purchased the medicine for me for Rs.250 and came back with my mother and neighbor aunti.

I shared this story with you not because I wanted to prove that I am a superb man or whatsoever you call in desi language like baandgiri etc. This was the first time I spent so much time in any hospital. I am happy to say that I helped a woman to save her heart, her child.
I just wanted to bring in front the fact that the life creates many circumstances which you might not have dealt before in your life. Be ready to tackle them. Moreover, It must not be mandatory to get involved in the jubilant parties of someone but I think, it should be mandatory to get involved in someone's grief. After all we are human beings. If we will not help each other in such situations then we have no right to be known as the bloody intelligent humans. To help each other and especially the one who seeks the help of his fellow humans is , I think the ParmKartvya of each human being .
